Neighborhoods.com is looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing Data Services team. In this role you will be focused on designing, building and maintaining our data pipelines and data warehouses for business intelligence, analytics, reporting solutions, and user-facing features. You will be responsible for the coding and configuration of tools to populate raw data and extracting curated metrics. This role will give you the opportunity to work cross-functionally to define and refine the overall data strategy for a growing company. 

This role can be performed fully remotely. For those that prefer an office setting, this role can be based out of our Chicago office.

As the Data Engineer, you will: 

  • Create data pipelines to and from internal and external sources while maintaining the quality of the data.
  • Monitor workflows for any delays and/or errors and investigating any problems
  • Communicate with stakeholders on the status and definition of metrics in the Data Warehouse
  • Collaborate with analysts to identify opportunities and risks in data collection and storage
  • Develop engineering best practices documentation on incidents and planned disaster recovery

We need someone who has:

  • 1+ year of experience with big data
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience using data to identify and solve problems 
  • Knowledgeable in designing, building and maintaining ETL data pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and enjoys working as part of a technical team to solve complex data problems  
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams
