DATA GOVERNANCE TRANSFOMATION & STRATEGY MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: The Data Governance Transformation and Strategy Manager is responsible for leading Cat Digital’s data governance transformation and strategy program to drive adoption of the data governance framework and operating model while continuing to develop and modify the Data Governance strategy. . The role plays a critical communication role and drives alignment and coordination of data governance efforts within Cat Digital, other business units, and at dealers.
JOB DUTIES:
Cultural transformation and change management:
§ Communicate and champion roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s data
§ Lead change management efforts with business units to become a data driven organization
§ Create and coordinate professional development programs for data governance
§ Coordinate with Data Stewards for each domain to align defined goals within the data governance framework
§ Support the Data Governance Manager with communication of key governance priorities and successes across the enterprise as needed
Program governance:
§ Remain constantly informed about the status of data initiatives that impact the business and report them to the data users and stakeholders
§ Lead the organization’s data governance transformation initiatives
§ Interact with PMO functions to collect status on program schedules and risks
§ Proactively communicate progress and risks to the Data Governance Manager and senior leadership teams
§ Highlight overlapping initiatives and synergies across the organization
Strategy, Policy and Awareness:
§ Research and recognize digital trends.
§ Understand future direction of digital trends.
§ Understand the impact and changes in behavior needed to adopt or make changes in digital solutions.
§ Educate, inspire, and influence the organization for digital governance needs.
§ Work closely with the brand organization to understand the desired representation of the organization digitally.
§ Analyze web analytics to assist in making digital recommendations.
§ Collaborate with others in the digital organization to define objectives and develop approaches to solving challenges.
§ Lead collaborative workshop sessions.
§ Perform competitive analysis and identify gaps and opportunities in the market place.
§ Create presentations for leaders and others to influence direction and assist with organization change management for digital needs.
§ Keep abreast of emerging behaviors, technologies, and companies that may impact the organization.
§ Seek input from relevant areas of the business that should have inputs to this business capability.
§ Define, document, and publish Data Governance policy, procedures and guidelines.
§ Identify and develop general training and awareness for leaders and all other employees.
§ Develop metrics to track transformation measures.
Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
• 3 plus years of Black Belt and/or Lean Experience
• Certified Change Master
• Completion of Management and leadership training

• Strategy management experience
• Experience in leading transformation efforts
• Experience developing metrics programs and dashboards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Developed work products that have been used to update / brief leadership
• Experience building programs from grass-root level
• Experience developing communications, presentations, and training
• Experience developing detailed project plans
