DATA MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: This position manages Cat Digital data governance activities and leads a team of experts with responsibility for improving the quality, use, and management of data and information assets. The position ensures adherence to a data governance framework for data policies and standards to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs, customer expectations, and regulatory demands. The Data Manager serves as a point of escalation for data management issues and will work closely with Cat Digital and business unit leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets.
JOB DUTIES:
Data governance
§ Roll out Cat Digital data governance framework, with a focus on data management and the
protection of data through policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, and related tools
§ Define data management operational processes in accordance with policies and standards,
clearly articulating roles and responsibilities
§ Work with data owners, data stewards and platform stewards to ensure that data related
business requirements for managing data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood
§ Develop & maintain inventory of customer, dealer, and asset data, including authoritative
systems and data owners
§ Monitor and measure compliance to standards and processes
§ Provide progress reports to the Digital Steering Committee and Digital Governance Board and oversee periodic updates to the data governance roadmap
§ Solve cross-domain data governance issues and escalate as needed
§ Define and measure indicators of conformance and performance metrics.
Qualifications
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Basic Qualifications:
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university
- 8+ years of experience in data governance
- 5+ years of experience in project management and execution
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisor role
Top Candidates will also have:
- Demonstrated ability to network and influence large organizations
- Requires extensive experience with change management
- Requires general understanding of basic business operations including the technical infrastructure and one or more of the following: general business processes, strong marketing acumen, and business unit marketing experience and dealer processes.
- The ability to articulate a vision of transformation efforts and a sense of mission and to manage senior relationships across all the business and functional areas
