Job Description

Analyze and develop solutions involving computer software, design new approaches to address technological issues. Design data pipelines for machine learning to increase efficiency in U.S. Data Operations. Piping and processing massive data-streams in distributed computing environments. Determine continuous improvement opportunities for predictive modeling algorithms. Drive projects with support from operations and tech teams. Evaluate program needs and determine how Nielsen can benefit from new data management practices. Create an open ecosystem for Data Operations and other Nielsen functions to more quickly access and analyze data. Determine projects for Nielsen associates to test hypotheses based on data. Involves the opportunity to telecommute from within the Chicago, IL area for up to 2 days per week, as feasible.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related quantitative field plus two (2) years of experience in quantitative analysis. Two (2) years of experience required with: statistical packages such as Python, R, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, or Tensorflow; utilizing statistical techniques to quantify business problems and provide actionable insights and recommendations; utilizing deep learning, market research methodologies, and research processes and operations. One (1) year of experience required with: utilizing Python or Pyspark or other Big Data architecture; data engineering and warehousing techniques with SQL; building and accessing Application Programming Interface (API) with a Python framework; and working with data management resources and transfer including Linux and Docker. Involves the opportunity to telecommute from within the Chicago, IL area for up to 2 days per week, as feasible. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
