A Data Visualization Engineer is responsible for developing analyses and visualizations within Lumere’s application, while adhering to data visualization and engineering best practices. The engineer will prototype scalable analytical features and deliver client-facing analyses embedded within our solution.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain analyses adhering to data visualization and engineering best practices
  • Position yourself as the go-to expert with internal stakeholders and seen as deeply aware of, and able to address, their data visualization needs
  • Execute against the ‘technical vision’ for data visualization, ensuring that all data visualization efforts are building toward long-term success
  • Foster our pair-programming and team-wide knowledge sharing efforts; Collaborate with and mentor junior team members on best practices
  • Review pull requests, troubleshoot tough development issues
  • Help to develop and maintain code standards and hold us accountable to them
  • Scale new analytical features while maintaining usability and performance
  • Work closely with Product Management and UX/UI designers to deliver on roadmap items

Qualifications:

  • You bring professional experience in front end development with a high level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Your level of expertise in JavaScript frameworks and technologies (React.js, node.js, or jQuery) is often called upon to coach peers/ mentor junior team members
  • You know enough to be dangerous when it comes to visualizing data with JavaScript libraries such as d3.js, dc.js, or highcharts.
  • A strong background in mathematics, statistics, engineering, and/or informatics
  • SQL and strong knowledge of our database architecture are expected within 1-2 months of starting
  • Familiarity with healthcare data preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
