Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence Manager
Envoy is looking for someone who is passionate to help us make improvements, automation, to the functionality, experience, and intelligence of our growing immigration platform. This role will require someone with an entrepreneurial spirit combined with the ability to drive innovation independently while collaborating with almost all teams in the organization.
The Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence Manager will be well established in the technical community, whether that is with speaking on panels, blogging, or published articles – you’re passionate and knowledgeable about the evolution of data sciences and AI. This person will also be a strong team builder and coach who can effectively mentor and develop staff through giving them clear goals and projects, while consistently collaborating, and inspiring them to achieve even more by working as a team.
On a more technical level, the Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for leading the on-going design and implementation of high quality conceptual, logical and physical data models, while working closely with our technical and product teams in an Agile (SCRUM) environment.
You Will:
- Define the architectural vision, roadmap, and cost on how best to leverage our data assets to enable the success of our business
- Be responsible for delivering prototypes and the Proof of Value for the future state of technology
- Manage a team consists of Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and Data Science engineers
- Operate with a team of engineers (responsible for application and services) - in a setting that involves interacting with Product Management, Engineering/QA, and Operations
- Collaborate across business and technology organization, providing sound analysis and recommendations
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a bias towards action and results
- Act as a thought leader and innovator with an emphasis on emerging technologies, industry innovation that can drive profitability, productivity, and efficiency in our business
- Lead efforts to simplify creation and management of application stacks through templates and automated actions
You Have:
- A strong background in relational databases and traditional data warehousing solutions, yet you have spent significant hands-on time mastering alternative data solutions to understand the larger evolving data architecture landscape
- 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of experience as a Data, Business Intelligence or Information Architect
- 4+ years developing solutions using relational databases such as SQL Server
- Experience managing teams (combination of fulltime, contractors, consultants, etc.) desired
- Demonstrated experience with creating and maintaining end to end data architectures including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
- Established practice in Master data and metadata management practices and principles
- Expertise in developing Data warehousing and Business Intelligence Systems
- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and business/IT partner interaction skills
- A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels, internally and externally
- Previously developed systems and products within an Agile framework and methodology
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills; ability to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend appropriate solution options
