Job Description

As Database Administrator for Club Automation, you'll be tasked with supporting our production and development MySQL databases and ensuring their performance, availability, recovery, and security. 

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of DBA tasks for our Club Automation product
  • Manage production database users and permissions
  • Manage backup and recovery for production databases
  • Design schemas and other database objects
  • Support team with extracting and importing databases within MySQL
  • Assist production support on customer issues
  • Provide assistance to Engineering teams
  • Monitor MySQL and resolve performance issues
  • Manage MySQL clustering setups
  • Be a part of the on-call all rotation
  • Perform standard MySQL maintenance tasks
  • Assist in all database server updates/patches
  • Work with Engineering and Test teams on performance turning of release items
  • Mentor and facilitate knowledge transfers to other DBAs on your team

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of MySQL experience
  • Experience working with cloud platform technologies
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in 1-2 database technologies such as SQL Server, AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, MongoDB, RavenDB, and Postgres
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot query performance based on Query plans of MySQL
  • Available some nights and weekends for on-call responsibilities
  • Background working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects
  • Self-motivated and directed, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow your skills in the DBA world
