Database Management
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Support database issues, upgrades, and migrations. Support database resiliency events such as sustained recovery, disaster recovery, and MEPC events. Create virtual database. Perform data transfer using regular export, import, and data pump. Write scripts to automate database back-up and switch-over, and monitoring. Install, configure, upgrade, and support replication. Set-up performance tuning and assist developers to optimize queries and stored procedures. Collaborate and coordinate with application developers on database deployment and application tests to ensure specifications are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as Software Engineering, Programmer Analyst, Database Administrator, or related role. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: debugging performance and capacity issues in Oracle databases; administering and debugging Oracle RAC clusters; performing GoldenGate based replication with Oracle database; configuring data guard replication; PLSQL and RDBMS; and preparing test plans and performing system testing.
