We are looking for a Demand Insights Manager to join our growing team and oversee the creation of a brand new demand planning process for our new retail business. This demand planning process will encompass both demand forecasting as well as operational and marketing initiatives that can control for the unpredictability of demand. You will be responsible for brainstorming the ideal process, putting together the plan and roadmap to get us there, and ultimately executing on it. You understand that the process and analytics needed in the initial pilot stages are different than what is ultimately needed down the line. Our ability to accurately understand the demand of our product in a retail environment will be one of the top drivers of the success of our retail business.
This is an especially cross-functional role that influences a lot of teams. We are looking for someone who can delve into the weeds with data in one moment and drive decision making at a high level with stakeholders the next; someone with enough technical skills to help guide the building of a predictive model, but also the ability to work well with leaders in various other departments.
Plan and Lead Development of New Demand Function
- Create a retail demand planning process for the organization which changes with the maturity of our product
- Roadmap and oversee all the steps to fully build out that new process
- Work with a demand analyst to build out the predictive demand forecasting model
- Collaborate with other internal departments and Kroger to understand the ideal way for them to fit into the demand planning process
- Track and be responsible for retail shrink and constantly strive to bring that down
Leverage Demand Knowledge Across Entire Organization
- Influence internal and external teams to match our sales and distribution decisions with insights from demand planning
- Spearhead projects across departments such as operations and marketing to reduce the impact and control for unpredictable demand swings
- Work hand in hand with our Product, Marketing, and Culinary teams to decide what tests to run on our product
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in highly technical business-orientated roles
- Big picture thinker capable of prioritizing work that delivers highest impact
- Experienced in managing, planning, and executing projects in a fast paced environment
- Comfortable leading meetings and influencing decisions with key stakeholders
- Understanding of predictive analytics and statistical methodologies
- Retail experience preferred but not required
- Solution orientated thinker with drive to make an impact quickly
