Primary Responsibilities

The Demand Replenishment Planner is responsible for the functions of purchasing, logistics and inventory management. These functions apply to specific grocery, dairy, deli and frozen food products, categories and food manufacturers. The Demand Replenishment Planner will work cooperatively with a diverse group of departments and associates to accomplish the goals of the company, such as sales associates, KeHE transportation and operations, account managers, accounting, supervision, brokers, manufacturers and inbound freight shippers. Essential Functions

• Lead a team of Logistics Analysts to deliver to the department service level and inventory objectives (cases & $’s)
• Grow team through creating development plans.
• Partnering with marketing buyers to ensure team is aligned toward overall strategic objectives.
• Lead by example.
• Becoming the logistics / procurement expert for their assigned products, categories, vendors and logistics companies.
• Becoming knowledgeable of the customer specific assortment and promotion needs and styles.
• Achieving established service level requirements, i.e., 94% to 97%.
• Achieving inventory level targets according to dollar level, days supply and freshness in all areas of the supply chain.
• Assisting in the negotiation of vendor logistics terms and conditions. Providing vendor logistics support including performing the analysis and conducting vendor negotiations, performing analysis of the procurement process, and creation of a vendor logistics database.
• Managing the Forward Buy Investment Program in order to generate incremental profit.
• Managing the Importing Program including scheduling, procurement, inbound flow, inventory turns, freight cost and forward buys.
• Participating in special procurement and logistics projects. Covering other associates duties during sickness and vacations.
• Complying with inventory / logistics performance targets and measures. In addition, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Work with marketing and transportation to ensure the lowest cost to deliver decisions being made as part of the purchasing process.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in using a desktop computer, including Microsoft Office software, and the JDE system.
• A minimum of 3 years of previous purchasing experience required.

Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

• Previous Food industry experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills.
• Possess a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage large volumes of data.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Talent communicating effectively both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
• Ability to effectively manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and often with time conflicting pressures
