The Director of Analytics will partner with our business, product, and engineering teams to enable and deliver exceptional analytics, metrics, and business intelligence. They will own our data warehouse, reporting, and metrics delivery to all of the organization’s key business stakeholders. They will lead our rapidly growing analytics engineering and data analytics organizations. We are looking for someone who has had previous success scaling and growing high-performing teams and is passionate about leading, coaching, and mentoring highly skilled technical professionals.

What will you do?

  • Lead 3 or more teams of analytics engineers and data analysts in a rapidly growing organization
  • Partner with key business and executive stakeholders to develop and deliver timely and exceptional insights and metrics
  • Partner with engineering and architects to ensure data collection and data architecture enable timely and accurate insights
  • Develop and implement a clear vision and structure for how the organization will consistently and rapidly execute to promote highly effective business decisions
  • Manage numerous stakeholders and prioritize and allocate resources to high value work
  • Identify, recruit, and hire highly skilled technical professionals
  • Rapidly scale and grow the analytics engineering and data analytics organizations to meet Clearcover’s ambitious goals
  • Coach, mentor, and grow managers and senior individual contributors to meet their career goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of Clearcover’s products, features, and related data sources
  • Build measurable goals with your teams and direct reports and ensure they are meeting or exceeding those goals
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team that helps each other with a willingness to learn and teach each other 
  • Help triage data defects and issues and ensure timely resolution

What do you need?

  • Experience leading and managing high-performing data or analytics teams
  • Experience hiring, recruiting, and retaining talented technical professionals
  • Successful track record of executing and delivering metrics and insights for business stakeholders for significant projects or initiatives
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially with senior business leaders, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Deep understanding of data and how it can be used to derive metrics and insights
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data architecture
  • Strong growth mindset, especially when it comes to developing, mentoring, and growing junior staff
  • Ability to provide honest, direct and actionable feedback to the team and follow up with relevant coaching and guidance  
  • Strong SQL skills

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Snowflake or Redshift
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Experience leading multiple teams
  • Experience building or owning a data warehouse
  • Experience scaling a data or analytics team
  • Experience working with insurance data
  • Experience in a start-up or growth environment
  • Proficient at Python, Ruby, or R
