Job Summary

The Director, Data & Analytics Delivery, is an organizational leader who has a clear vision for data as a corporate asset. This role leads and directs development and support teams to execute the overall strategy for data and technology services, and leads the delivery of cloud-based platforms and innovative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) solutions to create business value.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  1. Builds strong partnerships with business stakeholders as a key point of contact. Possesses deep understanding of business strategies and objectives.
  2. Leads and manages Agile delivery teams responsible for implementing enterprise data platform and analytics solutions. Builds cloud-based data platforms and productionize AI & ML based analytics solutions.
  3. Partners closely and works with Product Owners, Architects and Subject Matter Experts and other key stakeholders to complete the appropriate backlog for the Agile delivery process.
  4. Hands-on design, implementation and deployment of data platforms and analytics solutions that can perform at scale in one of the following areas: data integration, analysis and AI & ML.
  5. Collaborates with analytics leaders across the organization to drive data and analytics awareness throughout the enterprise. Develops plans to ensure adoption of new solutions. Communicates and influences audiences of various levels and diverse acumen backgrounds.
  6. Directs the integration of vendor applications and/or consulting resources into existing applications and/or resources. Manages onshore and offshore vendors.
  7. Prepares an annual budget for areas of responsibility.
  8. Provides direction on defined operational metrics.  Analyzes progress reports regarding actual versus planned metrics, team utilization, delivery and quality commitments and budget

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  1. Leadership experience in information technology. Experience driving for results across cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships.
  2. Expert in leading data & analytics solution delivery teams, coupled with deep understanding of the complexity of productizing data & analytics solutions.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment with vendors, clients, peers, and Technology management. Must be able to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts both to business partners and team members. Ability to direct onshore and offshore vendor resources.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High technical fluency in Cloud, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Python, R, SQL, or Java.
  5. Strong at designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions using a major ETL and reporting framework.
  6. Strong ability to thrive on ambiguity. Impeccable attention to detail and strong ability to convert complex data into insights and action plans.
  7. Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on people, quality of service, and costs.
  8. Solid understanding of foundational statistics concepts and algorithms. Operational knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
  9. Solid knowledge of the system development life cycle, technological alternatives, and architecture methodologies for multi-platform environments.
  10. Experience with Agile framework. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities of various key stakeholders at the leadership level.

Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Data Analytics or related technical field or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Typically 10+ years’ work experience in data, analytics or application development.
  3. Typically 5+ years’ experience managing data, analytics or application development teams; including preparing and managing significant operating budgets.
  4. Experience working in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure) preferred.
  5. Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred.
