We are one of most recognized brands in the world, and rated a top 10 place to work in Chicago. As a modern, forward-thinking “Tech” company, we are continually changing the Retail Food Service industry. Working in the technology sector of the corporation will provide you with challenging work, rewarding career opportunities, and one of the most comprehensive benefits packages in the industry.
McDonald's has bold plans to evolve our core data systems, their quality, and the analytics we do with that data. The Global Technology Digital & Analytics (D&A) team is at the center of this aggressive change. We do this in partnership and teamwork with the rest of our technology organization, other corporate functions, and the country-specific teams we support around the world. The team works in an entrepreneurial and strategic way to push forward our ideas and innovation, execution and culture, all on behalf of customers.
Our current need is for a Director role in managing key McDonald’s data-centric systems covering transactional data, supply chain, and support. The role is heavier on core data systems than analytics, though exposure to BI reporting technologies (Tableau, Microstrategy, etc) is required, and knowledge of what can be done with modern data science is preferred.

• General understanding of how data-centric applications and data-centric analysis is evolving in today’s fast changing cloud-centric information technology landscape
Preferred Skills

This is a significant role, managing significant spend and 75+ people, including employees & contractors. Previous leadership experience is required.
There are three broad aspects to this role – transactional data, supply chain, and support
• Transactional data: For our transactional data, a critical output is relational database tables showing our global transactional information. The team also supports trending for various types of sales forecasting, and some key sales reports
• Supply Chain: In supply chain, a key need is consolidating global supply chain data, and evolving how our different upstream supply chain applications work together. A successful candidate will have the technical background to understand how upstream applications, and their associated data models, can be modified to improve downstream data integration, when used in reporting and analytical work. Working collaboratively and constructively with upstream application owners will be important.
• Support: We are evolving our core data support operations to enable more CI/CD type deployments. Additionally, significant automation opportunity exists, which will require in-depth analysis of how to prioritize focus, and then coordinate with our platform team.
Ongoing, general responsibilities will include:
• Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing business cases, work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant business data, leading analyses and developing recommendations
• Support key strategic and portfolio management meetings by working with customer facing application owners, analytics teams, and other leadership partners
• Monitor our operational processes and continuously seek ways to drive efficiency, automation and tool enhancements
• Coordinate cross functional planning and operational initiatives, proactively identifying dependencies and driving issues to resolution
