Director of Pharmaceutical Research & Insights
What you will be doing:
As the Director of Pharmaceutical Research & Insights you will lead the creation of Lumere’s proprietary research library and data asset on cost-effective drug use in health systems. Lumere’s research defines best practices for health systems through comprehensive analysis of drug information and clinical evidence. These insights are used to create client-specific strategies for cost savings and improved patient outcomes. You will oversee research projects from scoping to publishing, and provide editorial and operational oversight for a team of researchers to create and maintain the content for our Pharmacy Solutions.
The successful candidate has the desire to apply their deep knowledge of pharmaceuticals and passion for medical writing to Lumere’s mission.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead team that aggregates, evaluates, and synthesizes drug information, academic research, clinical trials and other resources to demonstrate clinical differentiation or equivalence between pharmaceutical products
- Use familiarity and expertise on specific medical conditions and their treatments to inform project scoping and review content generated by team members
- Set high standards for assessment of evidence from clinical trials, including study design, statistical analysis, conclusions, bias, and applicability
- Apply basic pharmacoeconomic analytic principles to clinical and financial data to inform value-based decisions
- Cultivate editorial standards and practices that result in clear, concise summaries of evidence and recommendations for our Pharmacy solutions
- Develop and/or maintain department procedures, metrics and key performance indicators to measure operations and improvement targets to support changing business requirements
- Establish operating practices that ensure scalability and elevate the quality of research content
- Serve as a thought leader for Lumere’s perspective on cost-effective medication use
Qualifications:
- PhD in biological sciences with 5+ years experience in pharmaceutical development (e.g., medical writing, health economics outcomes research (HEOR), medical affairs); or PharmD with 5+ years experience in drug information or clinical specialist role
- Highly proficient in medical writing and editing. Experience in publishing or building a content asset is a plus
- Excellent people management skills with experience recruiting and training staff. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop individuals
