Engineer 2 - Managed File Transfer (MFT) Analyst

 

Job Description

 

Join the Nordstrom Partner Exchange Team!  We are looking for an experienced, operations-minded analyst who will provide support for our business-to-business integration processes including electronic data interchange (EDI) and managed file transfer (MFT) duties. This person is passionate about operational excellence, system performance, manageability, enterprise monitoring, and quality of service.

 

The ideal analyst is results oriented and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day. This role will work in partnership with developers, business partners and vendor resources to ensure successful delivery and implementation of data driven solutions.

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Functions as an B2B consultant within Nordstrom

  • Works with business and trading partners to facilitate B2B usage, including recommendation of best practices

  • Supports the ongoing integration of B2B technology with various business systems 

  • Trouble shoot communication failures

  • Participate in 24X7 on-call responsibilities

  • Daily interaction with business partners, external trading partners and development personnel to solve problems in the B2B/EDI process flow

  • Document B2B processes for trading partners, business partners and own department

  • Maintain server and software health by applying patches and resolving any vulnerabilities

  • Participate in design and development of tracking tools and other tools to manage B2B traffic

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to research, identify and resolve technical problems within needed time frames

  • Ensure that good business relationships are maintained with business partners and other IT departments to ensure success of enhancement and fixes

  • Experience with communication options (SFTP, FTPs, AS2) and VAN communication (value-added networks)

  • Experience with AWS – buckets, roles, etc.

  • Experience with encryption and keys such as SSH and PGP

  • Experience with Splunk – dashboarding and alerting

  • Experience in working with trading and business partners to research and resolve problems

  • Must be capable of working independently, adjust priorities and work in a continuously changing environment

  • Candidates should have strong analytical skills, an attention to detail, strong oral and communication skills and the ability to self-start and self-motivate.
