JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose:

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst I, II, Senior

Work in close coordination with the Company’s business unit management teams in the United States and globally to develop, implement and monitor National General Holding Company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, ensuring that appropriate mitigation actions are taken as required, and performing ongoing analysis to assess risk exposure, capital adequacy, and solvency. Remote working options would be considered.

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst I

  • Support the ERM function, which includes creating/maintaining processes to identify, analyze, monitor, manage, mitigate and control risks across the enterprise.
  • Conduct periodic assessment of risk exposures and modeling: assist with the continued development of the economic capital model, stress testing and capital adequacy.
  • Work with other staff throughout the organization in support of ERM, capital modeling, capital management, reinsurance and rating agencies.
  • Assist  in completion and filing of the Company’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and other regulatory ERM requirements.
  • Support all risk reports for ERM committee meetings, management, audit committee and board of directors.
  • Assist with all of the ERM processes, governance work and standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and service providers.

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst II

  • Qualitative and quantitative assessment and analysis of risk, including thought leadership and graphical representations for use in ERM reporting

Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst

  • Lead effort to update and improve the internal economic capital model. Present results and year-over-year changes

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst I

  • Bachelor Degree in quantitative field (actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics or related area) or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 2+ years of relevant insurance or reinsurance industry experience with exposure to corporate ERM, or successful completion of a graduate ERM curriculum
  • Minimum one actuarial exam passed towards the SOA or CAS, or demonstrated progress towards the ARM-E, CFA, FRM or PRM designation
  • Understanding of risk management principles, insurance operations and financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of ERM related regulatory frameworks (NAIC ORSA, Solvency II, Bermuda CISSA)
  • Effectively exchange information, present ideas, report facts and other information in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Keen attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills; ability to learn quickly and solve poorly-defined problems
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and adjust workload to multiple demands and shifting priorities

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst II

  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, insurance operations and financial statement analysis

Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst

  • 5+ years of relevant insurance or reinsurance industry experience with significant exposure to corporate ERM
  • Strong knowledge of ERM related regulatory frameworks (NAIC ORSA, Solvency II, IAIS Comframe)

Desired Skills:

Enterprise Risk Management Analyst I, II, Senior

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in quantitative or risk management field (risk management, actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics or a related area)
  • Actuarial experience
  • Risk management designations/certifications such as CPCU, ARM-E, CERA, FRM and/or PRM
  • Knowledge of  Economic Capital Models (ECM) or Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA)
  • Working knowledge of capital modeling software (Remetrica, Igloo, Metarisk or other
