We are seeking a Head of Data Architecture & Analytics to join our rapidly growing global workforce in Chicago. In this role, you will be managing a team of data scientists, database engineers, and administrators across our global workforce taking ownership of our data strategy, architecture, and analytics suite. 

Responsibilities:

• Partner with leadership and various Department Heads to identify problems, and opportunities for technology innovation
• Lead developers and partner with data analytics & engineering teams
• Help establish a clear, consistent technology vision through collaboration, influence, and enablement
• Research, recommend, design, and develop our innovative data architecture
• Implement business and IT vision through creation of new architecture strategy to span all data platforms (relational, NoSQL etc.)
• Devise as-is, to-be and interim data platform architecture to support company data needs and platform / data integration transformation
• Mentor colleagues and other data technologists to streamline tasks and increase productivity
• Deliver metrics, dashboards, and reports that are meaningful and add value to the business
• Ensure system, technical, and product architectures are aligned with business objectives
• Lead teams and has direct managerial responsibilities for high-level technical staff
• Manage a team of high-level technical staff responsible for developing and delivering products and services
• Define objectives and development plans in alignment with IT and business objectives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or more advanced degree in Information Technology highly preferred
• Proven success managing a team of direct reports
• Minimum of 5 years of data architecture experience in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment
• Experience architecting and leading teams to design data warehouses and/or data lakes with data technologies
• Experience mentoring other teammates and data technologists
• In-depth and hands-on experience devising Architecture best practices, deliverables, drawings, and frameworks
• Experience integrating a variety of data sources, including commercial software and bespoke data sets, using APIs, ETL, pipelines, and flat file ingestion
• Experience using Spark (PySpark, Spark Streaming, SparkSQL, MLLib, and GraphX) for big data processing
• Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and can elaborate on the -aaS hierarchy is preferred
• Fluent in various forms of machine learning and have practical experience of how to deploy into applications
• Demonstrated success in delivering metrics, dashboards, and reports to leadership
• Experience in a wide variety of database technologies, from Oracle, SQLServer, and DB2 to NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Couch, Cloudant, Cassandra, and/or Elasticsearch
• Experience using various information management technologies such as Teradata, SAS, MicroStrategy, Hadoop, Splunk and/or Informatica
• Experience developing strategies for data movement, data obfuscation (data masking), record retention (Deletion and Archival), data infrastructure/security, operational data stores (ODS), enterprise data warehouses, data lakes and the operational reporting
• Experience in the FinTech space highly preferred
