JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a part of this team we’re looking for an individual that is passionate and thrives on blazing new ground, problem-solving and leveraging data to drive actionable insights that will have a positive impact for our customers. JOB PURPOSE:

Analyzes business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to analysts and decision makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May participate in cross functional teams to address business issues. Prototypes solutions for displaying information based on business needs. Leads 4-6 projects per year.

 

JOB DUTIES:

Move to being a project leader on complex and highly visible projects.

Act as a team lead on a specific Vertical and manage Business Intelligence Analysts’ workloads

Set the strategic vision and direction and lead the planning and execution for the teams

Present insights outputs to Senior leaders and advisors,

Understand of segment strategy, and dollarize enterprise benefits

 

As the project leader the incumbent will be responsible for managing the project charter, team and stakeholder communications, and the overall project plan and budget

Incorporate knowledge of analytical methods and business acumen to guide cross-functional teams in the chartering and execution of work

Serve as the principal communicator with clients and internal stakeholders regarding project status

Manage a large portfolio/program that is composed of 4+ projects concurrently

Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree & 10-12 years of business experience, or a

  • Master’s degree & 7-9 years of business experience, or a

  • PhD & 4-6 years of business experience

  • Fields of study include computer science, business, mathematics, economics, statistics, management, engineering or in a related field

 

Top Candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of project management experience for highly visible solutions used broadly across the organization

  • Project management portfolio experience from effective requirements gathering, risk management through visualizing insights

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of two or more programming languages

  • Excellent communication skills (provide high-level view of detailed projects)

  • Self-starter and driven

  • Ability to leverage many different data sources to interpret requests / answer questions for key stakeholders

  • Ability to switch between projects / tasks / requests quickly

  • Positively leads and works well in a collaborative team setting

  • Create innovative solutions to solve business problems

  • Strong attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in coding or data

  • Strong knowledge/expertise of Microsoft Management Studio, Excel, Alteryx

  • Familiarity with Python, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL
