We have an exciting and immediate opening for a Lead, Business Systems (Business Analyst) in the Northern Trust Intranet Application IT Team. This SME/BA IT role will be responsible for understanding the overall Northern Trust business and corporate content and business requirements to drive the creation and future enhancement of a new Digital Hub for our Northern Trust partners. This position will entail creation of Agile development and content requests/user stories, implementation, content authoring, testing, and delivery support as these requests move through the Agile delivery phases.

Other responsibilities will include working directly with business partners/stakeholders at all levels within the organization to organize testing, debugging, issue tracking, and communication with product owners/managers and business stakeholders as needed.

The individual will also be responsible for articulating business needs into IT solutions to improve business process flow and efficiencies and developing documentation for the business and systems to further support and enhance the NT Intranet platform.

Major Duties

    • Understanding the business needs and work with the Product Owner to interpret business requirements into program specs/user stories for Northern Trust Intranet solutions that meet the needs of our Internal Partners
    • Interacts closely Business Unit Stakeholders, the Product Owner and the NT IT Implementation team and other groups facilitating client changes as requested
    • Facilitating and stay heavily involved with requirement definition, design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and the installation of the new NT Intranet site
    • Provide production support for business inquires and interpret their needs into IT solutions to correct any issues
    • Create and maintain documentation of new and changed processes
    • Utilizing standard NT tools for facilitating these changes to the various environments as needed
    • Build Content Authoring training material, host training sessions and support content authors as needed.

Knowledge/Skills:

Technical knowledge of the Sharepoint Online and Akumina would be ideal for this role but is not required. Working experience supporting content based sites is required for this position. Analytical and communication skills obtained usually through experience in related jobs or through formal training is required for this position.

  • Required Experience:
    • Self-starter that can work independently without a lot of direction
    • Must have 5-8 years of business analyst experience working with a technology team
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication and be able to work with all business groups at all levels
    • Experience with Content Management Systems and supporting technologies (Sharepoint Online, Akumina, etc.)
    • Requires a College or University degree
  • Additional Experience:
    • Knowledge of IT Agile delivery is a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with other NT tools (ADO, Sharepoint, etc. ) is a plus
