Lead Data Engineer, Analytics at Mastery Logistics Systems (Remote)
About the Role
The transportation industry has no shortage of complex problems requiring creative, data-intensive solutions in order to effectively and efficiently automate operations at scale. In this role, you will be expected to work autonomously and contribute to several high impact projects including architecting and building the data architecture to support Mastery’s embedded analytics and data science use cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and support to a growing data engineering team
- Build a high-quality Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing team and design the team to scale
- Managing and ensuring purposeful data modeling, data quality, etc. within the domain
- Manage the delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations
- Define and manage SLA's for all data sets and processes running in production.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
- Advocate for data governance across all business functions
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in BI and Data Warehousing
- Experience scaling and managing/leading 5+ person teams
- Experience implementing a data governance program
- Development experience in at least one object-oriented language Python preferred
- Experience with Agile method
Preferred
- Data vault modeling on Snowflake
- Experience developing in a cloud-based environment Azure preferred
- Experience with event driven data pipeline
