Job Description
TITLE: Lead Database Engineer
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Lead Database Engineer in Riverwoods, IL to work with vendor to support on-call pager rotation and support database installations and upgrades for Oracle 11 g, l 2c, Grid with MAA architecture. Build DataGuard across data centers for large databases and troubleshoot standby synch issues, support replication, and switchover failovers. Utilize Oracle utility to backup and point-in-time recovery including restoration of databases and RDBMS tables. Participate in configuration and database monitoring alerts for Oracle database patching and database vulnerability management. Participate in database weekend change implementations. Participate in implementation calls with application teams. Perform database migrations using Oracle Golden Gate SQL Tuning, using indexes, baselines, statistics, EXPLAIN plans and access path evaluation. Participate in database performance tuning. Participate in troubleshooting of issues and work with other teams and present observations and analysis results from the database side. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and four (4) years of experience in job offered or related position: providing application support including development, testing and production installation; providing database consulting services including capacity planning for new Database Servers, devising backup and DR Strategies based on application criticality; and utilizing technologies including Oracle RDBMS 12c,11g, 10g, Oracle Exadata, Real Application cluster (RAC), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13c), RMAN, Datapump export and import.
