Job Description
Responsible for providing program, reporting and analytical support for the Resolution Planning program. Support the development of resolution plan and other regulatory submissions.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the Resolution Plan (RP) objectives and strategies so as to guide other parts of the organization
- Support driving the annual roadmap of activities both for production of RP materials and initiatives which enhance resolvability
- Perform financial and other data analysis in support of developing insights around Discover Bank’s resolution planning strategies and capabilities
- Own and author specific sections within the resolution plan document
- Support preparation of governance materials to drive senior management/Board understanding of the RP and facilitate approval of key components and support development of RP Policy, Procedures and controls in alignment with FDIC’s modified approach
- Coordinate across Discover’s internal teams, including Legal, Accounting, Corporate Risk Management, Treasury, Business Technology, HR, Card, Consumer Banking and other business areas, to ensure the timely submission of the Resolution Plan
- Support key resolution plan initiatives such as virtual data room, identification of critical services, mapping of systems and vendors, key personnel identification, MIS reporting etc.
- Contribute to analysis and processes to manage the FDIC’s engagement and capabilities testing exercises
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Project Management or related
Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree
- 8+ years in Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Project Management or related
- CFA, CPA
- Strong ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing)
- Strong data analysis and critical thinking skills
- Project management experience
- Ability to influence others without having direct accountability for them
- Strong understanding of Discover’s P&L and Balance Sheet
- Self-motivated, displays a high level of initiative
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
- Broad knowledge of Discover’s business processes, procedures, and systems
