Job Description
TITLE: Manager Analytics
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager Analytics in Riverwoods, IL to manage a team that performs advanced analytics and provides intelligence and/or recommendations to solve business issues to business partners, including hiring and firing, conducting performance reviews, assigning work, and making personnel development decisions. Hands-on BI systems for reporting and advanced data analytics. Conduct advanced analytics, including both qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify trends, variations, patterns, and insights. Ensure team members produce accurate and on-time delivery of analyses and recommendations. Ensure team delivers deadline-driven, accurate, and insightful analyses and reports. Create a culture that engages business partners through a collaborative approach that promotes fact-based, data-driven decisions. Review the results of advanced analytical analyses. Identify areas for improvement in an analysis or additional data that should be investigated and ensure team members execute. Identify the need for consistent monitoring of trends and the need to incorporate an analysis within a dashboard. Identify the need for business intelligence in different areas of the business and assign team members to gather and analyze the data. Present findings from analyses and make recommendations to leadership. Partner with leadership to ensure an in-depth understanding of requirements and performance levers (KPIs) for each analysis. Identify value drivers and partner with business and process owners to define success measures. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing analytical tools, including R, SAS, and Python; utilizing data warehousing and table structure principles; working with databases, including Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, and MySQL; building complex insightful reports and mining data to detect patterns, opportunities and insights using Snowflake, SAS, Teradata, Hadoop, Tableau, Python, R, and Spark; providing creative solutions to help solve complex business problems using state of the art analytical techniques and leveraging both internal and external data sources; evaluating external data and model vendors; and supporting the design and development of critical analytic assets such as metrics, measurement frameworks, data models, analytic applications, and data visualization tools. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of the above listed fields and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the above listed skills.
