Hello Analytics Lead!

We are searching for an Analytics Lead to help lead our team of data analysts by leveraging a combination of technical skills, as a team player, and industry experience, as a team coach.

At Freeosk, our Analytics team identifies and answers questions about Freeosk users and audience on behalf of our clients and retail partners. You’ll be responsible for all internal and external facing output, on behalf of the team, that this results in - including program results and analyses informing decision-making/audience health.

Your role will include responsibilities in these core areas:

PEOPLE & TEAM (25%)

- Day-to-Day oversight of Analytics Team; team operating rhythm, team workflow, setting priorities, managing timelines, monitoring documentation, setting expectations with internal and external stakeholders.

- Mentor Analysts and Jr. Analysts.

- Contribute to growth & development initiatives, including technical skill education.

- Act as a sounding board for problem solving.

- Collaborate daily/week with other key departments.

DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT (25%)

- Engineer, develop and streamline workflows and tools with a goal of improving data accessibility and output speed on behalf of the team

- Help productize new business line reporting (including metrics and visualizations)

- Monitor industry trends to inform innovative ideas surrounding technology on behalf of the team

ANALYTICAL PRACTICE (50%)

- Contribute to team standard reporting outputs, when needed

- Contribute to Leadership analytics requests and special projects

- Perform ad hoc analysis to understand Freeosk product trends

- Finding and coaching team to find insights while working towards effective presentation and simplified, storytelling of analytical insights for internal stakeholders and clients

- Serve as Q/A for external deliverables

- Present results to non-technical audiences

Ingredients for success in this role:

  • 4+ years of related experience in applicable industry (data, measurement, business intelligence, media search/social/display/commerce/offline channels)
  • Masters in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science preferred
  • Expert in Python, both as a scripting tool and as data analysis tool (Pandas, Numpy, etc)
  • Proficient with R, SQL, and Excel
  • Experience building processes and applications in Python
  • Hands on experience in applying advanced analytics to solve complex business problems
  • Experience with unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques and methods
  • Strong working knowledge of basic statistical concepts such as point estimation, probability distributions and hypothesis tests
  • Experience with integration and cleansing of disparate or incomplete data sets to deliver insights
  • Effective use of front-end reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience managing priorities and customer requirements; ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
  • Experience translating client requirements into standard UML diagrams and/or Agile user stories
  • Documenting vision and scope, including monitoring changes throughout project lifecycle
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Leadership and project management
  • Clear Communicator with strong presentation skills
