Job Description

In this role, you are an integral part of the Client Analytics Team.  You will be responsible for generating and leveraging advanced analytics to deliver customer and merchandising insights in support of working with retailers to build customer-centric strategies and execute merchandising decisions informed by analytics. This role is both client-facing and central-facing with a focus on updating client solutions with configurations to align with the client’s business needs and strategic focus over time.  You will be responsible for the management of client data that is used to develop and analyze results and present insights and recommendations back to our clients. Your success in this role will be driven by an understanding of our client needs, and your ability to translate business constraints into analytical deliverables for those clients, which including evolving our solution delivery over time with updates to the product solution. You will leverage your analytical background and related retail experience to motivate others to action both internally and with our external clients.

 

You bring relevant retail industry experience and expert capabilities in developing and interpreting segmentation, optimizations and statistical modeling for both marketing and merchandising practices.  You understand the business needs of a retailer or CPG client, as well as the appropriate analytical approach  and  the understanding of the application of analytics within a retail or B2B environment to maximum impact to drive sales, profit and/or value. 

 

Key Accountabilities

•Work collaboratively with client to deliver customer, merchandising and/or marketing insights to support business objectives

•Conduct timely quantitative and qualitative evaluation of deliverables by analytics team to support client's business objectives

•Evaluate effectiveness of existing merchandising, marketing & promotional strategies and make recommendations for future optimization

•Proactively highlight opportunities to develop or enhance existing analytical solutions, processes and tools. Incorporate new/enhanced tools and processes

•Develop, execute and or automate reporting to meet client needs, leveraging SQL, Python and hands-on database skills

•Collaborate to ensure 'shared learnings' across team and clients

•As a customer-centric consulting business it is important to infuse a customer perspective into projects/tasks where appropriate. Awareness of customer metrics and its impact to differentiated insights and recommendations is a must

•Link analysis and results to business issue and/or analytic objective with a focus on impact to financials for a retailer

•Become an expert in Precima merchandising products, with a deep understanding of analytics, models, process and product

•Be a primary client contact in the development and implementation of analytical applications, strategies and tactics based on Precima-developed customer insights and analyses

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or similar

  • 6+ years of directly related work experience, preferably with some of it involving the retail industry

  • 4+ years of client management experience

  • Superior analytical/modeling skills and experience with database concepts

  • Proficiency and hands on experience in data analysis using SQL , Python and Data Visualization

  • Experience analyzing large amounts of customer, item and transaction level data

  • Strong interpersonal skills - diplomatic, professional and composed

  • Excellent ability to be part of multiple projects/initiatives of varying size and complexity, while simultaneously meeting and exceeding deadlines in a diverse environment

  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative and passion for the application of statistical sciences to address business challenges and learning of new statistical/analytical methods

  • Ability to translate analytical results into clear written and verbal communication to internal/external stakeholders

  • Proven problem solving ability, ability to ‘think outside the box’

  • Team player with high energy and demonstrated initiative

  • Strong presentation skills, ability to quickly adjust based on Client needs

  • Strategic thinker, creative and self-motivated
