Job Description
TITLE: Manager, Data Science
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager, Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical frameworks, and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithms, and make recommendation to solve business problems. Manage priorities and sets of analysts, assign projects and allocate resources, communicate business performance and project progress to management and business partners. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiments, analysis methodology, modeling and applications, and financial impact analysis. Establish and maintian effective performance tracking, identify improvement opportunities, form hypotheses, and propose, design, and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports and iteratiively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Facilitate implemenation of work product and ensure accuracy. Ensure standard work processes and documentation requirements are timely and consistently followed by team. Encourage continuous improvement of team processes and share across functional teams to ensure consistency. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing statistical analysis techniques to validate data analysis procedures, including sampling, regression testing, and hypothesis validation; performing root cause analysis utilizing data analytics such as decision tree, logistic regression, and variance analysis; performing analysis of deposit products and data in Teradata, SAS, and Hadoop environments; manipulating data utilizing MS Access, SQL, and SAS; and programming in R and Matlab. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of the above-mentioned fields and four (4) years of experience in the above-mentioned skills.
