Job Description
TITLE: Manager, Data Science
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager, Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical framework(s) and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics, and machine learning algorithm and make recommendations to solve business problems. Manage priorities and sets of analysts, assign projects and allocate resources, and communicate business performance and project progress to management and business partners. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiments, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis. Establish and maintain effective performance tracking. Identify improvement opportunities, form hypotheses, and propose, design, and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports and iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Facilitate implementation of work product and ensure accuracy. Ensure standard work processes and documentation requirements are timely and consistently followed by team. Encourage continuous improvement of team processes and share across functional teams to ensure consistency. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Financial Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or related occupation: conducting statistical analyses or building statistical models; utilizing statistical tools, including SQL and MS Excel for analysis and reporting; and participating in loss forecasting process, including forecasting model development, validation, performance monitoring, and model improvement. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in the above-listed fields and four (4) years of experience in the above-listed areas.
