We are seeking an exceptional Marketing Data Scientist to help lead the journey of improved data-led decision marking and ushering in machine-learning solutions to optimize our marketing activities around the globe.  You will guide growth in areas that are underserved in marketing such as building a reporting and visualization suit as well as applying effective attribution techniques, while strategizing new avenues to profitably acquire new accounts. You will combine marketing platform domain-knowledge with data-science skills to work with these challenges to help implement scalable solutions.

To be successful in this role, this individual must have a proven track record of leveraging marketing data across a number of advertising platforms in a BI architecture decision framework for a financial brand and/or in an agency-led environment. A strong candidate must be comfortable in a distributed workforce environment and be able to collaborate and work well with all levels of leadership. This role is based in our Chicago office and reports to the Head of Performance Marketing.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Enhance ThinkMarkets knowledge of our marketing channels performance, from data collection to formulating a reporting architecture
  • Measure the impact of our various marketing channels and campaigns, and how they interact with each other
  • Help leadership make critical investment and strategic decisions through a BI-led approach to generating insights that are rapid, scalable, and repeatable
  • Lead model development to harness large data sets to improve flexibility in automated marketing decision making
  • Provide strategic leadership in development of marketing data-lake
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Conceptualize, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations that inform both tactical and strategic decision making
  • Work with specialists in data science, analytics, engineering, and economics disciplines to develop reliable and reproducible analyses and models at scale
  • Deliver well-documented datasets, tools, and reports to key technical and business team members
  • Analyze and interpret behavioral data collected from desktop and mobile analytics software to understand opportunities in the customer journey
  • Develop modelling algorithms to analyze customer, market, and trading data signals to influence marketing decision making

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years working in a data-science role with an adtech focus
  • Deep knowledge of Tableau or other BI visualization software
  • Expertise in applying supervised and unsupervised algorithms to large-scale data
  • Experience with SQL, preprocessing (e.g. Unix/Python), and statistical analysis (Python)
  • Experience with data pipelining, from data preparation to analysis to deployment
  • Experience with Marketing analytics and experimentation, tag architecture, and troubleshooting

 

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Advanced knowledge of machine-learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised)
  • Prior work experience at a high-growth finance tech company
  • Understanding of media and the statistical algorithms typically used in marketing analytics
