We are looking for a candidate to help assist Home Chef with the overall menu development process and lead the development of our Fresh and Easy Menu.

Responsibilities are as follows:

Menu Design and Presentation

With supervision from Menu Strategy Manager, lead the planning process of Fresh and Easy Menu with estimation of 4MM COGS for Q1 2020 (This includes E-commerce and Retail offerings)
Assist menu setting process of E-commerce Classic menu
Strategically set weekly Fresh and Easy menu mix to optimize sales, cost and customer experience
Work with Photography Associate to execute menu experiments to assign Fresh and Easy meal popularity to manage cost and maximize menu appeal
Maintain Fresh and Easy cost targets that align with food cost goals
Collaborate with Tech and Marketing on Fresh and Easy menu presentation

Ideation and Framework

Maintain knowledge of Fresh and Easy meal repository and performance metrics to strategically set parameters for meals during ideation
Taste and provide feedback on new meals (2+ days per week)

Menu Planning Maintenance

Assist Menu Strategy Manager to allocate Chef Research and Development time against products and then schedule Chefs accordingly
Maintain retail eligibility classifications for meals
Maintain bank of meals eligible to be rerun

Measure and Improve Metrics

Collect and analyze sales and meal review data to inform future Fresh and Easy menu planning
Maintain & assist with the development of menu planning process & tools to drive improvement in metrics and efficiency
Collaborate on ingredient tax and subsidy program with Menu Strategy Manager to drive menu variety and appeal

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Passion for food & willingness to eat all meals created by chefs (allergens and dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated)
3+ years of experience in a rigorous fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and initiatives simultaneously with a results-oriented approach
Strong Excel/Google sheets experience
Independent self-starter inclined towards finding solutions without significant oversight
Must be able to taste and provide thorough feedback on every meal and ingredient sample test in the kitchen, including vegetarian, pork, chicken, steak, and seafood meals.

Iyer is a senior manager of new product development, but she also plays an active role in Home Chef’s cross-functional group, HC Connect. The group organizes social events that promote a sense of belonging across the company and also collaborates with the many affinity groups at Home Chef. Recently, Iyer attended a Mardi Gras trivia night where she learned about Creole culture and Spanish law.

I try to attend as many events as possible. I want to support my peers, but I also walk away with more than I expected, whether it’s a piece of trivia or understanding someone’s perspective in a new light.
