What You'll Do:

The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for administrating all company databases. As a DBA, you'll maintain the integrity, performance, and security of Oracle databases, and to a lesser degree Microsoft SQL databases. In this role, you'll maintain and test disaster recovery plans to include testing the data recovery to meet the application SLA's with the business application owners. The DBA will also be involved in the architecture of all database applications and any data warehouse/data lake projects.

Primary responsibilities of this individual will include the following:

  • Perform advanced database administration tasks
  • Manage Database change control
  • Set up, configure and maintain standby databases
  • Configure and manage backups using database -specific backup technologies
  • Query performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Client software install, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Work with Application team in Database Design and coding for performance
  • User support and troubleshooting
  • Manage technical and functional documentation
  • Perform Database migrations for both internal and acquisition projects

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology field
  • 5+ years of experience in Database Administration on Unix/Linux/Windows platforms
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining Oracle Real Application Clusters
  • Experience in Oracle server set up, software installation, upgrades, configuration, maintenance, and backup & recovery
  • Experience in Database Architecture and Design - physical and logical design and ER model
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting database performance problems in mission critical large production system
  • Experience in Oracle Data Guard set up in LAN and WAN environments and standby database maintenance
  • Experience in Database Replication and Migration Technologies
  • Experience in applying advanced Database features for high availability and performance
  • Experience in managing Distributed Databases across the globe
  • PL/SQL Programming
  • Experience in SQL Server installation, backup, recovery, replication, migration, performance tuning and maintenance
  • Experience in setting up, operation and maintenance of In-Memory technologies - Oracle TimesTen, Redis, Memcached
  • Experience in NoSQL and Graph Databases installation, data models, replication, maintenance and performance scaling
  • (All or some of the following: MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, OrientDB, Neo4j)
  • Unix/Linux System Administration skills
  • Experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
  • Must have the ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Must be available 24/7 when in on call rotation and in emergencies

  • Knowledge in BigData processing technologies (Hadoop and Hadoop Data components)
  • Knowledge in Open Source Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Knowledge in SAN Storage Technologies
  • Knowledge in advanced database technology implementation – Database Gateways, Big Data Solutions
  • Knowledge in Data Warehousing
  • Knowledge in Databases running on Exadata Database Machine
