The Data Engineering team at OppLoans is focused on the design, development, and support for "all things data" at OppLoans. This includes the deployment of Postgres databases which support our applications, our Snowflake Data Warehouse and multiple Airflow and Hevo ETLs.
This new team member will be focused on:
- Our PostgreSQL Service (OLTP) and Reporting (OLAP) Databases in AWS RDSProvisioning new databases and users with CI/CD tooling
- Keep our data secure and private
- Performance tuning and analysis
- Data-related alerting in Datadog
- User support
- Documentation
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery Planning/Drills
- Tool evaluation and testing
- Capacity planning and budgeting assistance
- On-call Rotation for Production Support of all Database and ETL Systems
- System administration of data-related Linux EC2/ECS servers
- Frequent customer-centric collaboration with Reporting users, Developers and DevOps Engineers
What you will bring to the team:
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer
- 3+ years managing production PostgreSQL instances
- Some experience with shell scripting and Python/Ruby script development
- Experience with an ETL tool such as Hevo, Airflow, Informatica or something similar
