Proflowers is seeking an experienced pricing and promotions analyst who can help design and lead the pricing and promotions strategies across our flowers and plants businesses. This role requires deep critical thinking, strategic modeling, and cross functional partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to shape the future program and make an immediate impact on the Proflowers.com business. The ideal candidate will be creative, forward thinking, strategic, data driven and customer centric obsessing over the ideal customer experience and leading cutting edge technologies and will have room to explore and innovate.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a detailed promotions strategy including a calendar for each season. Provide relevant and timely insights into pricing and promotion activity in the industry and broader marketplace.
  • Develop and utilize advanced response models for evaluation in the strategic merchandising initiatives. Manage, analyze, and recommend effective promotions across a set of categories, assess optimal margin rates, maintain sell through goals, and evaluate customer price perception.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Category Managers, and other key functional decision makers/influencers, as well as senior management to provide in depth strategic price and promotion analysis and robust insights/analyses/guidance for strong value propositions.
  • Determine areas of business where innovative analytical solutions may be used to drive business growth, create analysis, and develop recommendations. Educate and influence business partners to improve understanding/reliance on quantitative methods for evaluation of promotional events.
  • Develop robust repeatable process and approach to leveraging critical pricing tools developed in conjunction with external expertise partners.
  • Help to create broader understanding throughout the organization of cost/margin implications of pricing, promotion and merchandising strategies.
  • Lead relationships with price shopping and price scraping companies to deliver resources necessary for thorough understanding of competitive pricing and promotion activity and analysis.
  • Ability to perform complex financial modeling using extensive various technical platforms
  • Business manager mindset with drive for continuous process improvement
  • Thorough understanding of pricing/cost/margin decisions on company profitability
  • Strong organizational agility to enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels of organization
  • Strong leadership abilities Passion for developing team member

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytical Business Specialty or equivalent experience and at 2 to 4 years of experience in retail, analysis, and/or pricing

Ability to communicate the impact of promotions in attaining organizational goals.

Proficient in a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments

  • In depth understanding of price elasticity logic and analysis

Proactive and resourceful self-starter with excellent problem solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective communications skills

Desire to roll up sleeves and execute while also seeing the broader vision of the channel

Thrives in fluid, demanding environments and can juggle competing high-priority projects

Can comfortably and effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners
