Job Description
TITLE: Principal Data Science
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Principal Data Science in Riverwoods, IL, to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problem into analytical frameworks, and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables, and presentations. Facilitate implementation of work product and ensure accuracy. Establish and maintain effective performance tracking; identify improvement opportunity, form hypotheses, propose, design, and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithm, and recommendation to solve business problems. Lead the development of analytical capabilities with the aim of creating long-term strategic data and analytics assets for the company. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Consistently follow standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintain quality of work. Continuously improve technical and leadership skills through training and development. Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or related occupation: utilizing statistical analyses, data mining, and machine learning techniques. Utilizing technologies including SQL, SAS, R, Python, Teradata, and Microsoft Office. Utilizing knowledge of economic theory and finance. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent and four (4) years of experience in the above-listed areas.
