Quality Analyst - Model Query

We are looking for Quality Assurance Analysts who are passionate about changing the status quo and bringing health care into the 21st century. As an embedded pod Quality Analyst, you will play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of Tempus by providing secure and high-quality insights for our clients, patients, and partners. Patient care, data quality, and innovative science are foundational principles that require creativity and pragmatism.
The Tempus Model Query team integrates molecular and clinical data into a unified model to enable research into treatments and patient outcomes by both internal and external scientists. Help us grow the Tempus platform to provide internal and external teams the tools they need to build solutions that facilitate high-quality data generation, analysis, and reporting.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Leads and Engineering teams on testing strategy, quality acceptance criteria, release readiness, validation plans, and issue resolution.
Plan team testing activities and support scheduled releases and deployments.
Establish, monitor, and optimize application-level stability, performance, and reliability measures.
Document tables, processes, and queries including creation and maintenance of data flowcharts.
Perform data validation by independently writing and executing complex SQL queries.
Document, analyze and evaluate test results and defects, track and manage defects, and work with the development team to troubleshoot issues.
Troubleshoot data quality issues and work with owners of source data systems to remediate those issues.
Experience:
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, etc.).
Experience with Continuous Integration, Deployment, and Delivery.
Experience with developing and executing detailed test plans, scenarios, test cases, and defect management.
Experience with reporting and data visualization skills using software like Tableau.
Some experience in cloud data warehouse technologies like Google Big Query or AWS Redshift.
Prior experience building technical solutions with Continuous Integration tooling.
Experience with process mapping and process documentation preferred.
Experience at a growth-stage startup or established technology company preferred.
Required skills:
Strong SQL proficiency.
Thorough understanding of relational database concepts.
Strong background researching and manipulating complex and large data sets.
Technical writing skills and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis.
Understanding of data warehousing and ETL techniques (including gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques).
