Risk Analyst

As a Risk Analyst on the Risk Management Team, you will help monitor and maintain the firm's order flow to the European marketplace, all while developing necessary tooling to properly carry out such tasks. You will be required to review the risk in the book and report any notable exposures to the Risk Team. Additionally, you will provide support by developing tooling to assist with market risk oversight and researching companies and industries to identify risks.
*Due to the European Markets hours of operation, this position will be working a typical shift sometime between the hours of 1am-10am CST.
You'll Be Responsible For:
- Daily monitoring and validation of execution risk in European markets
- Regular testing of execution limits
- Monitoring and maintaining book risk limits
- Monitoring and communicating out relevant company, industry, and market news and events as they pertain to firm positioning
- Maintaining an active dialogue with support groups regarding risk changes, risk representation, revenue, and regulatory issues
- Working with other Risk functions including Product Control, Middle Office, Risk IT, and Risk Reporting
- Performing any or all of the above responsibilities for, or in support of, PEAK6 HC Holdings LLC or any of its affiliates, including, but not limited to, PEAK6 Group LLC
You'll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:
- University degree in a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in a risk analyst role or related position
- Strong proficiency with Excel
- Experience using Python or C++
- Strong attention to detail, project management and prioritization skills which will be key in balancing daily deadlines with timely implementation of strategic projects
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively research and distill information, as well as clearly and concisely communicate key findings.
- Experience automating routine analyses to provide more efficient data evaluations
- Flexibility in covering a variety of different sectors
- A demonstrable understanding of options pricing methods and models preferred but not required
- Good spoken English, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in teams
- Travel to other offices may be required
