Want to see your analytical skills impact the success of local businesses worldwide?

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

As Groupon’s Supply Analytics team, we work with teams across the company to ensure that Groupon has enough merchants, services, and deals for every user on Groupon’s platform. We build and improve metrics that are targeted at understanding how deals with merchants impact revenue for Groupon Local and Groupon Getaways in North America.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will help drive the strategic development, measurement, and execution of revenue management activities for the North American Local business. You'll use your understanding of key business drivers to generate objective, data-driven, and actionable recommendations towards achieving the business’s strategic goals. We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst who is excited about working with data, testing hypotheses, challenging the status-quo, and solving complex business problems.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data to track project performance and important developments; Synthesize raw data into digestible and actionable information

  • Work closely with leaders to present findings that drive business action

  • Test hypotheses across functions (Lead Management, Sales, Planning, Product, Dynamic Pricing, Marketing) using measurable, statistically-significant methods to evaluate best performing strategies

  • Optimize Lead Management across functions (Lead Availability, Prioritization and Allocation) to increase coverage and merchant quality

  • Work with our Product partners to integrate tested findings into systems to achieve scale across the Sales organization

  • Assist in developing a Merchant Lifecycle Program to better to identify contact triggers, deal structure optimization, and merchant product needs to impact how we retain and attract merchants

  • Monitor and interpret business performance, understanding drivers, pipeline, and trends to forecast performance and actively make business recommendations

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related fields

  • 2-5+ years of professional experience, preferably in a management consulting or a financial analyst role

  • You have strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management

  • You have experience working with and influencing decision-makers and leadership in the past

  • Strong familiarity with Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and building graphs

  • Knowledge and experience using SQL to gather data for analysis

  • Tableau or similar data visualization tool experience a strong plus

  • Statistical package (R, Python, SAS, Stata, etc) skills a strong plus

  • Experience querying in Hadoop a strong plus
