Job Description
TITLE: Senior Business Data Analyst
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc., seeks Senior Business Data Analyst in Riverwoods, IL to liaise between Data Scientist and Data Engineering to enable data application development. Understand at a fundamental level our data ingestion and processing frameworks. Gather data application requirements from Data Scientists and other operational teams to ensure that the business needs will be met. Design transformation logic in source to targets to be implemented by partner Data Engineers. Partner with the Data Scientists and Data Engineers throughout the development and testing processes by ensuring that the team understands the parameters and needs of the project. Schedule and run data application and model deployments and validations between Data Engineering and Data Scientists. Utilize deep knowledge of inhouse data to assist Data Scientists in developing models, analytic processes, and reports to drive business value. Provide guidance to Data Scientists in creating efficient and fast performing data consumption processes to meet service objects. Highly efficient in understanding logic implemented in languages such as Python, R, and other analytics tools used by Data Scientists. Provide support for deployed data applications and analytical models by being a trusted advisor to Data Scientists and other data consumers by identifying data problems and guiding issue resolution with partner Data Engineers. Ensure proper data governance policies are followed by implementing or validating data lineage, quality checks, and classification. Analyze and interpret complex data and provide resolutions to data issues. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology Management, Information Technology, or related and two (2) years of experience: performing SQL development; utilizing methodologies, including Agile and Software Development Lifecyle; performing data manipulation and analysis using technologies, including Python and Tableau; and utilizing database technologies, including Teradata or AWS.
