Senior Category Manager: RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country. Our explosive growth is propelled by cohesive planning and flawless execution. Reporting to the VP of Procurement, the Senior Category Manager will be accountable for the development and execution of all raw material category strategies to optimize value for the organization. The Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Lead will work towards continuous supplier improvement and manage relationships with key category suppliers and business stakeholders. Additionally, this role will define the direct material category framework, drive operational efficiencies and generate value creation across the organization.

General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

• Manage category managers and support them in the development of category strategies to ensure alignment with the overall strategy of the business
• End-to-end management of direct material categories, including the category strategies, category sourcing plans, spend analytics, supplier evaluations & performance management, market research, and various other strategic initiatives
• Establish a category management and strategic sourcing framework and organizational design that supports the needs of the growing RXBAR business
• Lead and negotiate supplier agreements to ensure quality, cost and service levels are met
• Provide commodity and industry knowledge to key stakeholders on market trends, suppliers, and raw material specifications
• Own supplier relationships (including supplier performance and risk management) with RXBAR strategic partners; develop and use supplier scorecards to manage performance and drive joint process improvement
• Manage cross functional relationships with Quality, Research & Development, Finance, Customer Service and Logistics to ensure all stakeholder requirements are captured and considered in category strategies and for downstream planning & execution
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to reduce/optimize direct material spend and increase visibility into spend
• Lead strategic sourcing and RFP initiatives for all direct material spend categories
• Partner closely with RXBAR’s quality team and apply knowledge of regulatory & food safety guidelines as they relate to each raw material requirement
• Act as liaison with suppliers to deliver operational efficiencies and cost reductions

Skills and Qualifications:

• Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
• Bachelor’s degree in business discipline
• 6+ years’ experience across supply chain, with focus in purchasing, sourcing, operations, and contract negotiation
• Strong analytical, business process and problem-solving capabilities
• Deep understanding of direct and raw materials category management
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of management
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong understanding of consumer products and food manufacturing is desirable
