SPINS is seeking a world class Sr. Cloud Data Engineer to be a key member of the SPINS Product Intelligence team, working to improve and scale our existing architecture and systems.

What you will do.

As a Sr. Cloud Data Engineer, you will develop and support the data analytic technologies on Google Cloud Platform that bring value to our customers using the latest in no-ops technologies including DataFlow and BigQuery. In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions.
  • Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources and APIs
  • Develop ETL pipelines using Google Cloud technologies using best practices.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques including machine learning to categorize and make predictions.
  • Write queries involving table alterations, views, selects, inner and outer joins, and optimized queries in MySQL and BigQuery.
  • Write clear and concise technical documentation and user guides

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years professional experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field
  • Expertise in big data techniques such as cleansing, ETL, map-reduce, and machine learning
  • Experience in a cloud computing platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Experience using cloud based Big Data solutions such as BigQuery or Redis
  • Expertise in Java 8
  • Experience using SQL, ETL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Knowledgeable in formalized QA/Testing strategy, processes, methodologies, and standards
  • Familiar with Agile frameworks and testing process implications.
  • Experience using a unit testing framework such as Junit.
  • Able to clearly articulate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision-making skills.
