The Data Team at HealthJoy is responsible for data systems, analytics, and research that drive decision making across the company including at the highest levels of leadership. We are a tight-knit and growing team with interdisciplinary skills sets that allow us to tackle problems that range from operating our data warehouse, to researching potential product improvements and user behavior, to developing data-driven optimizations that allow HealthJoy to continue it's impressive growth trajectory.
Because our work is critical for initiatives in almost every department the Data Team at HealthJoy is highly organized, intentional, and strategic in our approach to our work. We are constantly working to ensure that we have explicit philosophies for everything from stakeholder engagement to system design. The result is a team that has all of its code resources under version control, peer reviewed, and automatically deployed and documented. We use playbooks for stakeholder engagement, OKRs to drive long term objectives, and JIRA to track our work -- and we of course have analytics on all of this. We have a multi-year mission and a roadmap to only become more high-impact and dynamic as HealthJoy's data needs continue to grow.
As a Senior level hire you'll be expected to be at the point in your career where you understand how to work independently but collaboratively and are ready to take ownership of your own projects. We are open to a range of different backgrounds including analytics, engineering, and academia but generally we are looking for:
- 4+ years of data analyst experience in a professional setting
- Expert in SQL skills
- Proficient with Excel
- Proficient with at least 1 scripting language (ideally Python)
- Strong data visualization and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders
- A track record of quickly picking up new skills
Our work centers around our cloud data warehouse and experience with any of these technologies or equivalent tools would be helpful but is not required:
- Events: Segment
- ETL: Fivetran, DBT, Gitlab CI/CD, Snowflake
- BI: Looker, Amplitude
- Software: Git, GitLab, AWS (S3, Lambda), Python, Pandas
- Have a deep understanding of any our tools (especially DBT)
- Have worked with Python projects under version control and/or outside of a notebook environment
- Are comfortable with college-level statistics (we value fundamentals over ML buzzwords)
- Experience in the healthcare space, especially working with claims data
