The Reserving Process team works collaboratively with our internal customers to deliver in all aspects of data, reporting, and analytics. Under minimal supervision, the Senior Data Management Analyst develops and standardizes Management Information Reports to perform analysis identifying sources of reporting trends and data quality issues. Demonstrates deep knowledge of statistical and financial reporting processes and procedures. Researches and assists in resolutions and reconciles information with financial results where appropriate. Investigates data anomalies, segment reporting issues, and regulatory reporting issues to ensure accurate and timely distribution of reports and regulatory submissions. Tests, documents, and reviews completed reports to ensure proper Data and Analytics standards and procedures are met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Build and own "one source of truth" business friendly data structures and visualizations to facilitate consistency and efficiency in extracting and analyzing data across the organization.
  2. Evangelize and serve as an expert on modern cloud based technologies for the entire organization
  3. Ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
  4. Analyze data for reasonableness and accuracy, determining causes of inaccuracies and proposing solutions for improved data capture and data quality.
  5. Support Enterprise initiatives through data analytics by partnering with business leaders in identifying opportunities to build and analyze metrics through data visualizations
  6. Innovate and improve efficiency of managing data to allow for greater speed and accuracy of producing analyses, metrics and insights.
  7. Collaborates with management, technical staff and subject matter advisors to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis and develop cost effective resolutions for data anomalies
  8. Provides input into data governance initiatives to enhance current systems, ensure development of efficient application systems, influence the development of data policy, and support overall corporate and business goals.
  9. Verifies accuracy of table changes and data transformation processes. Test changes prior to deployment as appropriate.
  10. Stay up to date on data analytics trends and developments.
  11. May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Data analytics experience with strong SQL skills and proficiency in data visualization tools. Knowledge of applications similar to Alteryx, Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot and other business related software a plus.
  2. Solid technical, analytical, and problem solving skills and ability to learn new techniques, tools, and programming languages.
  3. Knowledge of business functions, statistical methods of analysis, company systems and databases, and their integration.
  4. Solid verbal and written communication skills including technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  5. Ability to leverage enterprise applications for reporting and process improvement to meet business objectives.
  6. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic workforce
  7. Knowledge of business insurance concepts, specifically property and casualty lines, a plus
  8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  9. Readily adapts to change


Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in analytics or financial analysis related field or equivalent.
  2. Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience.
