Job Description

GoHealth is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its Strategic Analytics Center of Excellence. This Data Scientist will be responsible for using advanced analytics and machine learning to provide senior business leaders with actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives and create enterprise value across the company. Due to the dynamic nature of the Strategic Analytics team, and this role in particular, we seek candidates with a problem-solving mentality and experience extracting data and analytical insights in a wide-range of business contexts.

Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in GoHealth’s business processes, including the role that each business unit plays in supporting the company’s ultimate objectives
  • Build models that predict customer purchase patterns, increase call center efficiency, and allow business leaders to maximize financial return through differentiated routing and adaptive agent behavior
  • Collaborate with business leaders to analyze problems, optimize processes, and build presentations making your results intelligible to any stakeholder in the company
  • Continually think of new ways data-based insights can help support GoHealth’s processes and improve customer purchasing patterns and decision-making
  • Communicate analytical insights, both verbally and visually
  • Compile complex data sets from a variety of sources
  • Identify additional data sets that can drive strategy, improve decision making, and automate processes
  • Mentor Junior members of the team and lead internal data science course

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics or another quantitatively focused field
  • 5+ years in a data science role and/or an advanced degree in a quantitatively focused field
  • Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex joins and conditional statements
  • Extensive experience working with statistical/machine learning packages in Python, such as Scikit Learn, Tensorflow, and Keras
  • Proven ability to create easily interpretable visualizations with tools such as Tableau, Looker, Plotly, or Matplotlib
  • Experience performing analytics in a business and/or healthcare environment, preferably with some degree of focus on sales and/or customer experience
  • Proven ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that can drive business value
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to colleagues with varying degrees of analytical knowledge
  • Experience mentoring Junior Data Scientists
  • Desire to improve upon current skills and learn new ones
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
