ABOUT THE ROLE

The ShopRunner Analytics team drives insights in every aspect of our business including marketing, product, partner relationships, and engineering.  We are seeking a Senior Director of Platform and Product Analytics to bring a solution architecture mindset to the analytics platform in order to build and manage the data asset that drives our analytics capabilities for the organization.  As an analytics leader at ShopRunner you will be hands-on with data to drive strategy, improve processes, build-out toolsets, and manage a top-notch team of product analysts.  If you are passionate about creating value from data and solving problems we are looking for you!

This role is US based only but we are open to any of our US offices in Chicago, IL, Conshohocken, PA (Philly), and New York City or fully remote in any of these states: CA, DE, IL, IN, FLA, MA, NY, NJ, NC, SC, PA, TX, UT, VA, WA, CT, MD, MI. From time to time, there will be limited travel to our offices as the need arises.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will be accountable for the analytics systems including the data warehouse and ETL, bringing ideas and rigor to solving problems around data cleanliness, consistency, and availability.  As part of this you will be responsible for data standards across the organization and work with engineering and product leadership to drive compliance.
  • You will manage and grow a team, fostering both business acumen and technical skills and creating a path for growth for each member of your team.
  • You will oversee the product analytics work, balancing team alignment toward priorities and goals, optimizing product analytics processes/tools, and evolving the product analytics org to grow and adapt to meet changing business needs.
  • You’ll advocate for and drive quality work: brainstorming analytic approaches, ensuring appropriate QA systems are in place, and providing guidance on communications. 
  • You will be a translator, able to communicate to technology partners as well as understand business stakeholder needs. You will connect the business reasons to value.
  • You are comfortable digging into strategic discussions about data: making recommendations, identifying opportunities, and driving improvements related to data and analysis.  And you will guide your team to work strategically with stakeholders - providing analytics guidance and strategic recommendations to improve our products.
  • You will be hands-on with data to understand the quality, usability, and maintenance needs of the data users. You will run your own SQL, and are comfortable with customer analysis, business performance analysis, and A/B testing concepts. You will attain a strong grasp of the nature and complexity of all core datasets.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • 10+ years of analytics with at least 4 years of experience managing direct reports, from new hires through managers
  • 5+ years of experience working in an eCommerce or related internet technology business with in-depth familiarity with metrics such as conversion, funnel, segmentation, retention, and monthly active users.
  • BS (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Fluent in reading SQL, willing to tackle data with a hands-on approach to understand it at a detailed level
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders, communicating complex results, and managing a portfolio of analytics projects.
  • A solid foundation with analytics, deep understanding of the details of solving data problems, and strong critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and DSML platform architectures as well as the data pipelines that power them 
  • Experience evaluating and selecting technology vendors and administering systems/tools 
  • Experience with using, developing in, and administrating BI tools such as Looker, Qlikview, or Power BI
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments

Preferred:

  • Statistical mathematics and modeling experience as it relates to A-B testing and CRM (segmentation, churn prediction, etc)
  • Experience with the data and systems to analyze mobile app performance
  • Cross-functional experience working with product, engineering, and business teams
  • Familiar with agile development methodology
  • Experience with R or Python for data manipulation and analysis
