Primary Function:

The Sr. Analyst, eSourcing will lead the ongoing effort to support the eSourcing Program and its users. This includes, but may not be limited to: strategic sourcing consulting; user and system support; analytics; continuous improvement and relationship management.

This position will develop, deploy and maintain eRFx templates and training; consult, configure and/or execute simple to complex eSourcing events (in support of Direct and Indirect Procurement); this includes but is not limited to: review large amount of data and content; communicate best practices; coach/train users; revise/commutate processes and templates; monitor events’ progress, status and results; troubleshoot user/system issues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive use and adoption of eRFx tools and templates across Direct and Indirect Procurement, ensuring adherence to Grainger’s standard eSourcing processes and procedures.
  • Manage eSourcing Program Roadmaps to develop and deploy comprehensive, but user-friendly, eRFx tools and templates that enable team members to effectively collect, qualify and evaluate price and non-price factors.
  • Maintain templates, documentation, and training materials on SharePoint for use across various spend categories and event types.
  • Serve as users’ primary point-of-contact for Direct & Indirect eRFx(s): best practices, processes, tools, methodologies and advanced sourcing strategies. 
  • Analyze large sets of data and documents (spend, specification, requirements, etc.)
  • Interview team members to discover specific event objectives, requirements and/or constraints. Identify and recommend the most relevant techniques, tools and templates for each specific event (i.e. which system, event type, data structure, configuration, timeline, etc.)
  • Configure the advanced eSourcing system to consider price and non-price factors, event requirements, target price calculations and/or supplier feedback. 
  • Review and approve events configured by users within the standard eSourcing system. QA event’s content and structure; such as: data, questions, bid lines, scenario modeling, etc.
  • Execute complex events, or complex portions of events, (i.e. auctions, expressive bidding) as needed.
  • Coach, explain and guide users through the eRFx process; ranging from event preparatory activities to award scenario modeling.
  • Troubleshoot event issues with team members. Serve as the escalation contact with the application provider for technical issues.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships (Legal, Finance, Brand Management, etc.) to understand each group’s business needs, and ensure effective collaboration in an environment of competing priorities and metrics.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience within Strategic Sourcing/Procurement. 
  • 2-3 years of experience with eSourcing tools and methodologies is preferred (Jaggaer/SciQuest, Trade Extensions, Ariba, Determine, etc.) and various eSourcing approach types (RFP, RFI, Auction, etc.)
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently; practical knowledge of project management principles and methodology.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects simultaneously .
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Can function in a dynamic business environment and easily adapts to change.
  • Proficient user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong written/verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Experience with complex event types that utilize optimization & scenario modeling is preferred.
  • Professional qualification/certification from related professional organizations (CPM, CPSM, APICS) would be advantageous.
