Position Description
Zoro is seeking a Senior Manager of Analytics to join the Analytics team with the mission to transform data into business actions. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in managing an analytics function at a large ecommerce organization. This position will be responsible for developing and managing team of analytics professionals and creating an analytical roadmap to continue Zoro's pursuit of a best in class analytics organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of analysts and analytics managers to
- Become a subject matter expert across many analytics related disciplines, including web analytics, multi-channel attribution, data management, data visualization platforms, tag management, solution design. Develop new programs and solutions to continually advance our capabilities.
- Develop and manage various vendor relationships.
- Effectively manage business clients. Ensure a high level of quality and satisfaction in delivered services.
- Work with database tools or scripting languages to process, report on, and draw business and marketing insights from a variety of datasets.
- Develop and perform quality checks for both ad hoc and ongoing processes. Monitor and maintain these automated processes.
- Proactively investigate traffic, conversion, and performance trends using customer transaction and web analytics data.
- Create compelling summaries and visualizations of datasets using available tools.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
- Establish monitors and alerts for pro-active monitoring of data and marketing performance changes.
- Manage and consult on website tag implementations, including expert usage of the Google Tag Manager platform.
- Research best practices in data analysis, reporting, data visualization, and statistical analysis; incorporate them into everyday work, and share with the wider business teams.
- Adopt industry best practices for data management.
- Work with clients on their strategy and initiatives bringing in the analytics to help devise go forward strategy.
- Produce high-quality reports.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, analytics, economics, or similar and 7+ years of work experience.
- At least 3 years' experience managing a team of developers and/or analysts.
- Ability to query using SQL, Python, and R.
- Experience creating automated data reporting solutions.
- Ability to stay abreast of emerging technology and methods for marketing applications, data management and analytics.
- Experience in data management and analytic methods are a must.
- Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas.
- Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics a must.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.
- In depth understanding of the various software development lifecycles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
