About Deal Genius:
Deal Genius is a well established e-commerce company based in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, employing about 50 hard-working, creative individuals. 

Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Ecommerce Marketplaces is responsible for maximizing the rate of sales and profit margin of Deal Genius products being sold across various marketplaces. Creates and maintains the proper analytics to monitor sales performance of all SKUs. Optimizes components of listings and performance of those components, including: images, videos (where applicable), keywords, ads, product detail information, competitive landscape, rank, analysis for each products, etc.

They should have a proven track record of successfully managing teams and driving business improvements. This individual introduces metrics designed to track the effects of action plans and determine whether the actions are effective at meeting targets.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Leads the efforts of structuring and executing operational and strategic initiatives to maximize margins and inventory turn by sales channel
  • Leads pricing and revenue optimization efforts across existing and new markets
  • Monitors and promotes new product listings to minimize time needed to achieve top search result ranking
  • Ensures action and resource requirements are properly aligned to allow for those goals to be met
  • Continuously monitors marketplace performance to determine if strategies need to be adjusted or new strategies should be introduced
  • Manages a team to run reports and makes ongoing adjustments to inventory pricing as well as testing of new strategies to maximize visibility of inventory online
  • Gathers and synthesizes relevant data and develops final recommendations
  • Testing of new strategies to maximize visibility of inventory online
  • Discover, evaluate, and launch new partner programs/opportunities to achieve sales and margin goals
  • Monitors and directs returns and other data to proper stakeholders to ensure accurate reconciliation
  • Identifies trends and leading indicators in data and takes proper action
  • Identifies gaps in data and properly manages those gaps and/or finds how those gaps can be eliminated
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to successfully accomplish goals
  • Communicates findings to senior management & drives recommendations through to implementation and results

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive and execute quantitative analysis and deliver data-driven insights
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Collaborative problem solving and working style to drive change through influence
  • Able to self-manage progress against milestones and deliverables with a high degree of accountability and personal urgency
  • Strong problem solving-skills - ability to break a problem into components and understand how to test each component
  • Project management skills with the ability to take concepts from the idea stage and make them actionable
  • Data-first philosophy but can also make decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create meaningful presentation that tells a story, as well as collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset which incorporates a dynamic team to problem solve and communicate information and results

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or closely related preferred
  • Seven years or more of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience ideally in ecommerce of consumer goods with focus on marketplaces and brand stores, data analysis, and pricing and inventory management
  •  

Work Hours and Conditions:

A minimum of 40 hours per week.
