What You’ll Do

 

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer on the Finance Forecasting & Regulatory Reporting team, you will:

Innovate

  • Plan how we build and integrate new systems by leveraging your holistic knowledge of the products in our ecosystem.
  • Generate POC's for new ideas and scale them into generic patterns.
  • Innovate on best practices for our team and advocate for improved processes with our internal partners.
  • Build and prototype microservices based designs and solutions within the ETL data pipeline on container platforms (i.e. Kubernetes and OpenShift).

Create

  • Develop and maintain full stack solutions on
    • complex front-ends, with a focus on user experience
    • backend systems
  • Create and maintain DevOps processes and application infrastructure while leveraging cloud services (including database systems and models)
  • Design and develop data processing, transformation and data ingestion frameworks while employing open-source tools such as NiFi,Kafka, Java, Pig, Spark and Python
  • Support live systems to ensure business continuity
  • Deliver support for deployed data applications and analytical models

Lead and Inspire

  • Mentor, inspire and drive the team with thought leadership and fresh ideas
  • Lead the team to evolve data solutions and enable a seamless integration and data flow across the data ecosystem
  • Design, and help the team build, pipelines and new capabilities using next-gen tools
  • Achieve operational excellence and efficient ways to manage projects and production support
  • Provide senior-level technical consulting during highly complex and critical data project design and development

Learn

  • Keep up-to-date with new technology trends and innovations
  • Collaborate with our business partners to understand their reporting and data needs

 

Qualifications You’ll Need

 

The Basics:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 10+ years of work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • In lieu of education experience, 12+ years of work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with one of the ETL tools, such as AbInitio, Informatica or Data Stage
  • Experience in languages like SAS, Python and R
  • Passion for data and our mission

 

Bonus Points If You Have:

 

  • AWS and other cloud platform experience
  • AWS, cloud, or data warehouse certifications  
  • Experience with hybrid cloud data strategy solutions
  • An engineering, agile, self-starter mindset
  • Fresh ideas to whiteboard and adopt
  • A passion for innovation
  • Worked with or on data warehouse teams that solve big data problems and challenges
  • Working or conceptual knowledge of AbInitio / ETL technologies, MPP Databases, Stream Data Platforms, Qlik Replicate, Kafka, or K-SQL
  • Prior experience within a financial and regulatory domain
