Department OverviewThe Global Procurement Organization provides the resources, processes, governance, systems and controls for acquiring goods and services efficiently, effectively and ethically from a diverse supply base that provides Motorola Solutions a competitive advantage on cost, quality, technology, service and delivery. This position is part of the Supply Chain Procurement Team in the Product Procurement Organization.

Job Description
The Senior Analyst - Purchasing Category Manager is responsible for analyzing procurement data including spend/savings, part pricing, and Bill of Materials. In addition, would be responsible for day to day Packaging & Manuals category responsibilities.
This position will work closely with Procurement Category Managers and Supply Chain to accomplish business objectives.
In addition, this position coordinates purchasing activities with all functional departments acquiring commodities (goods and services) in a cost effective and timely manner. Achieves and maintains a technical understanding of commodities purchased. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities. Obtains materials, components, equipment and services. Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontractors to assure highest quality at best value.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Senior Analyst Responsibilities
Understanding of contract negotiations as well as issue resolution
Interface with Supply Chain and with Direct Procurement Team on any pricing, contractual, liability exposure, and/or delivery issues
Review and track Product pricing for new products and production kits
Ensure material supply plan is adequate for Motorola Solutions needs and resolve any escalated material shortages
Liaising with the supplier and various internal functional teams on the day to day operations
On multiple datasets from several sources, utilize database querying, data manipulation, and statistical analysis to provide critical business support
Analyze data to create actionable insights which align to business objectives
Assist Category Managers in RFI/RFQ creation and execution
Assist Procurement and Supply Chain in key parts shortage tracking
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Packaging Commodity Management
Responsible for managing $12M spend for Packaging and Manuals globally
Manage the supplier relationship, contracts, performance, and risk management
Lead RFQ and supplier selection activities
Driving cost reduction & vertical integration activities
Ensure material supply plan is adequate for Motorola Solutions needs and resolve any escalated material shortages
Lead quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement in cost, delivery, and quality performance
Responsible for creating, negotiating, completing, and governing all contracts
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or related field
Working knowledge of the procurement role
Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve independently
Able to analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
Utilizes database querying, data manipulation and statistical analysis to provide critical business support
Understand how to use the data tools Tableau, Smartsheets, and Google Sheets
Highly proficient with Excel (pivots, formulas, lookups, linking, etc.)
Agile, Oracle ERP
Ability to organize data and information in a clear and meaningful way to drive strategic insights
Strong attention to detail especially in documentation and presentations
Provides timely and professional support to all internal/external stakeholders and vendors
Positive attitude, willingness to help others achieve their goals, willingness to take on additional work, focus on cooperation and collaboration
Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within an established time frame
