The Database Administrator creates, maintains, designs, monitors and troubleshoots Ensono or client databases. They use specific relational database management systems, develop and implement database recovery mechanisms and procedures. And coordinate security measures to safeguard database integrity.
 

JOB ROLE SUMMARY

Use MS SQL Server relational database management system structure and technology to create and maintain physical databases; using expertise in clusters and a proficiency in T-SQL language implement procedures and practices regarding database design, development, monitoring, access, and upkeep; install and configure database management system software using various operating system platforms; monitor and tune the database for improved performance; develop and implement backup and recovery strategies; High complexity assignments – owner; Understands how whole picture aligns to overall Ensono strategy; Working with DBMS vendor support  MicroSoft, etc.); Complex trouble-shooting and repairs; Database security checks and audits, including compliance-related reporting & controls; Defining and maintaining quantitative SLAs and helping enhance current service levels; SOP (Std. Operating Procedure) definition & automation; DBMS and related tools license management;

implement capacity planning for databases; serve in an administrative role regarding database privileges, security, and migration; create migration strategies for data; implement strategies to maintain efficient programs, and develop strategies to test and enhance system performance; develop policies and procedures for system operations to better serve clients, interface with client to present database management solutions to resolve client issues.

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field and no experience or Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and five years experience as a database administrator or related occupation required.

Academic training or experience must include: 

• 2 yrs with supporting various MS SQL Server database versions and products
• 1 yrs - MS SQL Server Replication
• 1 yrs MS High Availability/Always on technology SQL
• 1 yrs - Configuring MS SQL Server Clusters
• 2 yrs - T-SQL coding and performance tuning.
