This role will own analysis of data integrity and data quality across our data pipeline and analytics platform, thus responsible for the KPIs, cross-functional initiatives and product upgrades. A particular focus will be on measuring methodologies to project and balance panel data to accurately represent purchase behavior. Additionally, this person will be owning the delivery of critical analysis from setting expectations, writing queries and custom code, documentation for repeatability, and communicating results. To effectively do so, s/he will test various data science methods, engage with third parties to identify useful external data, and ultimately collaborate with the engineering team to implement methodologies. S/he is ideally an analyst, product manager, or a data scientist who enjoys being hands-on dissecting complex data into useful analysis/action and is interested to get into product systems and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Developing methodologies to accurately analyze the projection and balancing of panel data
• Define KPIs and Quality Control metrics for all aspects of the data pipeline
• Define alert systems and processes to ensure any client data quality issues are quickly diagnosed and addressed
• Create and manage processes to deliver high-quality data through scorecards and data feeds
• Lead analysis that supports the discovery and measurement of new + existing methodologies and algorithms
• Partner with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to identify, investigate and deliver solutions related to product and back-end data issues
• Interface with customers to identify useful third party data
• Regularly communicate outcomes, new initiatives and improvements to stakeholders 
• Provide analysis consulting and support to both internal and external clients

• At least 3 years of industry experience with granular data analysis, predictive analytics or analytics technology products
• Experience working with real-world noisy data
• Solid, demonstrable proficiency writing advanced SQL, working with relational databases, Excel and/or BI tools like Mode or Tableau
• Demonstrates proficiency in the product development process and setting team goals
• Experience launching internal metric dashboards and scorecards
• Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate with data-driven stories 
• Experience communicating complex analyses and methodologies effectively to non-technical stakeholders
• Highly autonomous, versatile, intellectually curious and resilient within a dynamic and fast-paced organization

Exceptional Candidates Will Have

• Previous experience working with purchase panel data and/or survey responses
• Proficiency in at least one statistics/data analysis package, such as Python or R
• Hands on experience reading/writing code as Data Engineer, Technical Data Analyst, or Data Scientist
• Experience working with marketing insights, shopping data or in the retail industry
• Experience with understanding, analyzing and modeling user data and behavioral trends
• Exposure to machine learning frameworks and methods
